Channel I set to return; begins tests on Sky

Bangla infotainment service, Channel I, is set to return to UK shores.

Channel I was the first digital channel to launch in Bangladesh in 1999. The channel broadcasts educational, news and entertainment content.

Channel I was temporarily brought into the UK by Channel S as a replacement for its then Channel S NTV service. NTV suspended its service in the UK in 2007 after a fire broke out in its studios and subsequently affecting airtime.

Channel I looks likely to launch as an independent service and has begun testing off the Sky EPG ahead of its official launch.

Tests of Channel I can be viewed in the following way:

-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> System Setup (4)
-> Add Channels (4)
-> Enter the frequency: 12.522 (H), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight “55017” service and press Yellow button.
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> “55017” should be listed and available
