Channel Five signs Konnie Huq for zoo series

Ex-Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq has been signed up by Five to front the third series of wildlife show ‘Zoo Days’.

According to BroadcastNow, Colchester Zoo in Essex will offer the behind-the-scenes setting for the 20 x 30-minute series, which will focus on the zoo keepers and animals they look after.

The latest run follows two presenter-less previous series filmed at the zoo, which were narrated by Jane Horrocks.

Powell said: “Konnie and the team have been given an amazing opportunity at Colchester Zoo. We get to see what happens before the doors open and after they close. Our hidden cameras have been able to capture births and first meetings.”

Five will broadcast ‘Zoo Days’ at 18:30 on weekdays later this year.
