Channel 4 has decided to axe ‘Indian Summers’ after a decline in ratings.

The show, which was billed as one of the most expensive dramas in the channel’s history but suffered in rating in its second series.

MediaGuardian reports that the first season cost around �14m make. It kicked off with around 5 million viewers last year, however latest figures put the show down to just 1 million viewers.

In its second season, it faced stiff competition from BBC One’s ‘The Night Manager’.
