Channel 4 announces closure of five of its music channels
Channel 4 has announced the closure of five of its music channels later this year.
As a part of a cost-cutting exercise, Channel 4 will axe 4Music, The Box, Kerrang! TV, Kiss TV and Magic TV. The last three services are broadcasting under a licence arrangement with Bauer Media, as it owned 50% share in the channels until 2019. The channels had been available on Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media.
Reports say the channels were financially unviable, which is why Channel 4 has made the decision to terminate the services.
