Last seen in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Jazbaa’ (2015), Chandan Roy Sanyal seems to have a lot going on. With a number of projects in the pipeline, the actor is currently in the midst of shooting for his forthcoming film ‘Chef’, where he plays a sous chef to Saif Ali Khan. He recently spoke about his role in the film.

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the film is inspired by the Hollywood 2014 Jon Favreau starer of the same name, Mumbai Mirror reports Sanyal expressing, “My character works with Saif in a New York restaurant and is a self-appointed disciple.”

Talking about the adaptation, the actor went on to add, “Raja has adapted the film beautifully by adding Indian flavours and food to it. It’s set in Kerala, Goa, Amritsar and Delhi.”

This will be the first time Sanyal and Ali Khan will be sharing the screen. Touching on what it was like working with the big actor, Sanyal expressed, “e got along well because we have similar taste in cinema and literature. Saif is great fun to work with. We did a few workshops together to learn how to cut vegetables, toss veggies in a pan, among other things, like professional chefs. He keeps telling me that he will invite me to his place. Maybe it will happen soon.”

Sanyal has also been reported to be signed for Imtiaz Ali’s yet untitled Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer. News has it that he will be playing the role of an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant.
