CBFC removes chairman Pahlaj Nihalani

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India has been under much scrutiny of late due to some of the decisions being made on films. BizAsiaLive.com can confirm that chairman Pahlaj Nihalani has now been removed from his post.

Indian Express reports Ashok Pandit, filmmaker and member of the CBFC, stating, “Yes, it is correct. Pahlaj Nihalani had to resign from his chairmanship. Recently there was a lot of friction in the working of the CBFC”.

Sources also go on the reveal that lyricist Prasoon Joshi is tipped to be given the post.
