‘Carry on Jatta’ Punjabi comedian Jaswinder Bhalla passes away; aged 65

Veteran Punjabi comedian and actor Jaswinder Bhalla has sadly passed away at the age of 65.

Bhalla died on the morning of Friday, 22nd August 2026, at Fortis Hospital in Mohali following a brief illness, according to a statement from a close family friend. Bal Mukand Sharma, a long-time associate, confirmed that Mr Bhalla had been admitted to hospital two days prior after falling ill.

Throughout his illustrious career, Bhalla featured in some of Punjabi cinema’s most beloved hits, including ‘Jatt and Juliet’, ‘Sardaar Ji’, and ‘Carry On Jatta’. His portrayal of Advocate Dhillon in all three ‘Carry On Jatta’ instalments cemented his status as a household name and a cherished figure in the industry.

He was last seen on screen in the 2024 release ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’, starring opposite Gippy Grewal and Hina Khan.
