Recently a video was seen doing the rounds showing Sonu Nigam taking to the mic on an airplane and singing a famous song of his to the assuming passengers. Surprisingly, the airline’s crew of that plane have been suspended due to the incident.
According to TOI, because they allowed Nigam to so such a thing, five air hostesses have been suspended. Reportedly, it was the passengers who had requested the singer to sing and he obliged by singing two songs.��However, the aviation safety regulator ��� Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ��� have taking action and seen it as a serious misconduct.
A statement from Jet said, “All cabin crew on the flight have been taken off flight duty for enquiry and corrective training to reinforce strict adherence to operating procedures.”
Nigam himself also spoke to Bombay Times, “I have witnessed an elaborate fashion show in an aircraft. I have heard of small concerts happening in an aircraft…��I have witnessed an elaborate fashion show in an aircraft. I have heard of small concerts happening in an aircraft”.
“…To suspend crew members for asking me to sing on the address system, when the seat belt signs were off, and no announcements were to be made, is nothing less than punishing someone for spreading happiness,” added the singer.
The incident took place on a Jodhpur to Mumbai Jet Airways flight on 4th January.
