The popular Doni Brasco has been “sacked/ousted” from the flagship Breakfast show on youth Asian radio station, Buzz Radio.
Brasco announced his departure from the station on his personal Facebook account, he said, “My time at Buzz Asia aka Buzz Radio has ended. I have been ousted/sacked.”
When prompted by his friends on his decision to leave he added, “Will fill you in with details but just got off the plane and this all happened hahaha, grafted hard there, but the main reason is i’m too much of a stick in the mud. Bloody maybe I should have to conformed and been the monkey they wanted. But thank you alot made me value you myself at my lowest.”
Brasco recently returned back from India after a family bereavement. Incidentally, Brasco’s show has been the only Breakfast show on the Sunrise Radio Group that has been able to sustain its listenership over the past year. It was listened to by 40,000 listeners per week. Drivetime presenter Tarv Singh was covering for Brasco during his absense. A replacement is yet to be confirmed.
Also this week, Kajal Sehmi – presenter of Kismat Radio’s Breakfast show left due to differences with management. Earlier in the year, the Breakfast and Drivetime presenters on Sunrise Radio left who were replaced with new voices but retaining same identity.
