BSkyB to waive basic pack fee for Sky Asia pack?

BSkyB is reportedly set to waive the condition of subscribing to the basic Sky Entertainment package to receive the newly launched Sky Asia pack.

BizAsia has learnt that existing customers of VIEWASIA and ZEE Network will be migrated to the Sky Asia pack without the need of taking out a basic Sky subscription.

Two broadcasters confirmed the above to BizAsia. One further added that terms of subscribing to the Sky Asia pack will change in the coming weeks once the migration is complete – expected in summer. The Sky Asia pack will then be available to all as a standalone pack without a basic Sky subscription.

BizAsia announced last week that the Sky Asia pack will be available for �15.00 per month but a basic Sky Entertainment pack costing around �21.00 will need to be purchased too. As already mentioned on BizAsia previously, the Sky Asia pack was “softly” rolled out last week. A full launch of the Sky Asia pack with marketing and promotions by the broadcasters is expected in the coming weeks.

Sky Asia pack consists of ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema, ZEE Punjabi, Sony Entertainment Television Asia, Sony MAX, ARY Digital and B4U Movies.
