Broadcasters & TAM ratings service war over?

All major Indian broadcasters cancel TAM subscriptions
All major Indian broadcasters cancel TAM subscriptions

The cold war between audience measuring body TAM and Indian broadcasters seems to be over after industry bodies AAAI, ISA, IBF and TAM agreed a new deal with TV channels.

BestMediaInfo reports that the industry bodies have reached an understanding on some important issues paving the way for broadcasters to return to TAM.

Some of the points that have been agreed are:
-Data will be reported monthly rather than weekly.
-Buying will return to CPT model from CPRP
-Data will be measured in thousands rather than shares (niche channels whose data will not be reported unless they achieve a certain threshold)

It is yet to be confirmed whether TAM will continue supporting TSV (time spent per viewer).

A final decision on these issues is yet to be announced formally.
