Broadcaster acquires 22 old Shah Rukh Khan movies in multi-crore deal

An Indian TV broadcaster has forked out a huge sum to acquire 22 old Shah Rukh Khan movies in a multi-crore deal.

The titles include ‘Swades’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, Dilwale’, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’, ‘Happy New Year’, Dear Zindagi’ and ‘Chennai Express’ to name a few. A source told The Asian Age, “It is one of the biggest deals in Bollywood. The price we are hearing is unheard of because some of them are old films as well like Paheli, Billu, Chamatkaar, Anjaam, Ram Jaane, etc. But it is one of the biggest deals in recent times for a satellite channel.”

The source added, “Shah Rukh Khan films are always watched on television and they always command healthy TRPs whenever they are telecasted. No wonder, the channel in question has paid a hefty price for the deal.”
