British documentary on death of Jiah Khan on its way?

It’s been six years since Jiah Khan passed away. The star committed suicide on 3rd June 2013, by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home in Mumbai. It was reported that Khan took this grave step after allegedly fighting with her then-boyfriend and actor, Sooraj Pancholi. After five years of her death, Pancholi was charged with abetment to suicide on 31st January, 2018. Even now the case has not been settled yet. Now as per reports, a popular British television broadcaster is planning to make a three-part documentary series on the actress’s death.

The team is already in Mumbai and they have started their work on the documentary. One of the film’s coordinators stated to the Mumbai Mirror, “It’s too early for us to say anything about the documentary.”

Khan was born in the US and was raised in London. The late actor had made her debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Nishabd’ (2007). She then went on to star in ‘Ghajini’ (2008) and ‘Housefull’ (2010). She was 25 when she committed suicide.

Soon after her death, Pancholi was arrested on 10th June, 2013. On 2nd July of the same year, he was granted bail. After a petition seeking transfer was filed by Khan’s mother. Rabia Khan, the case was transferred to the CBI in July 2014. After the transfer, the investigation agency refused to charge Pancholi with murder charges.

However, Rabia has been pressing for applying a serious charge of murder under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Pancholi. But the agency has charged Pancholi with abetment to suicide.
