British star Jaz Dhami became popular when he collaborated with Yo Yo Honey Singh for ‘High heels’. Now, he is getting ready for his Bollywood debut with music composer Himesh Reshammiya.

Dhami, who was born and raised in Birmingham, cites his father, Viccar, as his biggest inspiration. Viccar is the lead singer of popular Bhangra band ‘Sangam’. He told Hindustan Times, “My family has been really supportive towards me. Because my dad has a passion for music, he always wanted me to become a singer. So, basically he is living his dream through me… And he has been the biggest inspiration for me. Also, Mohammed Rafi sir, AR Rahman sir, they’re my favourite artistes”.

Dhami says that his British roots haven’t stopped him from having a great grasp of the Punjabi language and culture, “I come from a Punjabi background, so obviously we spoke Punjabi in the house. I came to India when I was 16, after my education, and I spend a lot of time in India. I guess that’s how I grasped the language”.

Dhami’s vocals will be heard next in a film starring Abhishek Bachchan. He is joining hands with Reshammiya and also Dr Zeus for the track.
