British Asian Trust ends association with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan over violent video

The British Asian Trust has severed all ties with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan after a video of him violently hitting a band member emerged over the weekend.

The incident occured in Houston, Texas last year, which saw the singer physically assaulting the band member with slaps, kicks and his shoes.

A spokesperson for the Trust said, “The British Asian Trust has a strict policy towards abusive behaviour and has ceased any association with Mr Khan. We strongly condemn any form of violence whatever the circumstances.”

The organisation founded by King Charles III, focuses on combatting violence. It has been established since 2007. Khan was appointed as the ambassador in 2017.
