Box Office: ‘Welcome Back’ makes a decent start

This weekend’s release ‘Welcome Back’ has had a decent start at the box office in India.

According to Box Office India, the film’s opening was similar to ‘Brothers’ but that film opened stronger in East Punjab, while ‘Welcome Back’ has opened better in Gujarat. Average collections for the film on its opening day are hovering around the 30 per cent mark.

One factor against the film will be the high costs in making the film. It is reported that the film went over budget allegedly so it remains to be seen whether it will recover costs in the days to come. The film’s fate will be decided by Sunday. However, with the way the film has opened up, ‘Welcome Back’ is expected to grow on Saturday and further on Sunday.
