Box Office: ‘Vikram Vedha’ opens up below average in India

Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s much awaited release ‘Vikram Vedha’ has opened up to a lukewarm start at the box office.

The film’s opening was on par with ‘Shamshera’ with around 15-20%, according to Box Office India. ‘Vikram Vedha’ is performing better in the East and South.

‘Vikram Vedha’ has disappointed in mass circuits from initial figures. Navratri and festive season could be a reason for the lower than expected data. Also, the film has no such music, which again could be a factor.

The second release ‘Ponniyin Selvan Part 1’ (PS1) has had a decent start with its Hindi dubbed version. It collected Rs. 1.50 crore nett plus. While in Tamil Nadu, the original version has crosses a huge Rs. 20 crore – one of the biggest openers for the state.
