Box Office: ‘Veere Di Wedding’ banned in Pakistan

The trailer of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja starrer ‘Veere Di Wedding’ raised many brows as one did not expect the story to be a modern take on marriage, society, and life, and just how it impacts the lives of four women today. While the film releases this Friday, the Pakistan Censor Board has banned the film in the country due to its dialogues and certain scenes.

Mirror reports trade sources saying that the film has been banned for “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.”

Danyal Gilani, the Chairman of Pakistan’s Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) confirmed the news to IANS, “Members of the CBFC unanimously decided to not allow the film for public exhibition in the cinemas as its content flouts the Censorship of Film Code 1980.”

‘Veere Di Wedding’ also stars Swara Bhaskar and debutante Shikha Talsania.
