Box Office: ‘Uri’ & ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ open well in India

This weekend’s two releases ‘Uri – The Surgical Attack’ and ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ have opened up with decent numbers in India.

‘Uri – The Surgical Attack’ opened up slightly better with around 20-25%, according to Box Office India. The patriotic film starring Vicky Kaushal, is expected to do better business at the multiplexes. The film’s opening has been decent but whether it sustains it over the weekend, will prove the biggest test.

‘The Accidental Prime Minsiter’ starring Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna, opened up to around 15-20% of business – its occupancy is lower than ‘Uri – The Surgical Attack’ but its controversial subject is expected to attract the punters. However, the film has less screens than ‘Uri – The Surgical Attack’, which is why the latter has the upper hand.
