This week saw the release of three movies, the first of which also released online as well as in cinemas; ‘3G’, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ and ‘Jolly LLB’. Unfortunately, all three have opened to a dismal response at the box office on their first day.
In what is perhaps a change in normal habit, all three have achieved just 10% occupancy and there is no obvious front runner out of them. According to Box Office India, this year has been just one film rule at the box office above all the rest and that being ‘Race 2’. The films will most probably see a rise in occupancy over the weekend but hopes are not high.
Last week’s release, ‘Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ made a commendable 17crores in the first week, proving to be well ahead of the prequel.
