Box Office: ‘Tubelight’ opens well but affected by pre-Eid release

Salman Khan’s latest blockbuster in the making, ‘Tubelight’ has had a good opening at the box office in India but its release has been affected prior to Eid.

Box Office India reports the film’s average opening across India in morning shows was around 40%. It had better figures in the North with Delhi and Punjab not being affected by the pre-Eid release.

The opening of ‘Tubelight’ was expected to be a lot bigger as its the first major release after ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’, which was a film for the masses. Smaller towns are expected to see a big push this evening and over the weekend.

Multiplexes have opened up to around 50% and other sites have also done decently. However, the opening was expected to be a lot larger than this. It remains to be seen how after Eid (on Sunday) the numbers pick up.
