Comedy caper ‘Total Dhamaal’ has a decent opening in India, according to initial figures published by Box Office India.
The multi-starrer led by Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Ajay Devgn, had an opening of around 25% with mass centres reporting good numbers. The opening is said to be less than last weekend’s release ‘Gully Boy’ but the latter had the advantage of the Valentines Day period.
The publication says that the film is expected to have an upward trend on Saturday, owing to the positive reviews for the film. The last ‘Dhamaal’ film in the franchise, mustered in Rs. 7.56 crore nett on its opening day in 2011 but since then lifestyles and habits of cinemagoers have changed.
How successful ‘Total Dhamaal’ will be, remains to be seen on Monday when full weekend numbers are accounted for.
