Box Office: ‘Street Dancer 3D’ starts off well; ‘Panga’ on a slow note

The box office clash between ‘Street Dancer 3D’ and ‘Panga’ this weekend, has given an early lead to the dance film.

According to Box Office India, the Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer got off to a fair start registering around 20%. The film has opened up better than ‘Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior’ at most places, except Maharashtra. The film’s hit music may draw the youth, giving it a push in evening and weekend trading.

‘Panga’ has opened up on a very slow note with collections of 5-10%, opening lower than ‘Chhapaak’. It is unlikely the film’s business has been dented by ‘Street Dancer 3D’ due to the content of the two films being completely different.

‘Panga’ will need a huge push from Delhi / UP and East Punjab for any chance of survival.
