Today sees the release of Emraan Hashmi and Humaima Malick starrer ‘Raja Natwarlal’. The film sees he latter back to his well-known conman avatar but has a promise of a mass appeal. Early indications suggest that the film has started disappointingly at the box office in India.

It seems the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday has worked in the film’s favour in Gujarat and Maharastra as collections seem to be better in those areas comparatively, according to Box Office India. In Punjab, Dharmendra’s ‘Double Di Trouble’ was expected to override business but it seems to have opened dismally, giving ‘Raja Natwarlal’ a slight advantage.

Last week’s release ‘Mardaani’ made aroud 23 crore nett which is decent for a film of its kind. In two weeks, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Returns’ has hit 135 crores domestically, making it one of the most successful films of the year.
