Box Office: SLB & Deepika Padukone to clash on Diwali 2021?

Members of the Indian film industry are no strangers to box-office clashes, however there always seems to be a little bit of tension around big names that have films releasing on the same day. So when Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his big 2021 Diwali release, it came to a surprise to many as Deepika Padukone had announced her major release for the same date.

According to Times of India, Padukone had announced how she was all set to play the iconic role of Draupadi in the epic ‘Mahabharat’. Only a few days later, Bhansali announced his plans on releasing his next big budget film titled ‘Baiju Bawra’ on the same day. However, unlike many other personalities from the past, it seems there is no hostility between the film maker and actress. Sharing a great rapport, as well as 3 major successes, it seems Bhansali and Padukone will be out in support of each other.

Talking of Bhansali’s big release, the only piece of further news is that this will be based on the subject of revenge. Before this however, Bhansali will be working on his 2020 release titled ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which will star Alia Bhatt.

Padukone will also have a busy 2020, with her forthcoming ‘Chappak’ which caught the attention of many when she posted her look for the film on social media, where she will be playing the role of an acid-attack victim. Along with that, the actress will also be joining her husband on screen again for Karan Johar’s upcoming dark romance.
