Box Office: ‘Simmba’ opens up well in India

Rohit Shetty’s latest release ‘Simmba’ has got off to a good start in India.

The Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer had an opening of around 35%, according to Box Office India. The opening seems to be better than ‘Zero’, which released last week.

The report adds that ‘Simmba’ has the upper hand over ‘Zero’ in Gujarat and Maharashthra. ‘Zero’ struggled to take off in Gujarat, while ‘Simmba’ is expected to notch up business of around 7 or 8 crore nett approx in the same regions.

‘Simmba’ is also said to be on the verge of beating the opening day collections of ‘Padmaavat’ but with a lower occupancy. The actual verdict will come in on Monday when weekend business is accounted for.
