Box Office: ‘Sholay 3D’ ruling over ‘Mr Joe B Carvalho’

The first two releases of the new year are in cinemas today; ��Mr Joe B Carvalho�۪ and ��Sholay 3D�۪. Early indications suggest that the latter is surprisingly doing better than the former but both are at a below average.

��Sholay 3D�۪ is obviously the re-release of the cult classic ��Sholay�۪ (1975) but in the modern 3D format. Despite being a re-release, the film is currently enjoying better occupancy than Soha Ali Khan and Arshad Warsi starrer ��Mr Joe B Carvalho�۪ in many areas. Some regions though are showing ��Sholay�۪ in 2D which seems to be slowing down it�۪s popularity. Either way, both films are below 20% in occupancy, according to Box Office India.

On the other hand, 2013 release ��Dhoom 3�۪ is doing well in both the domestic and overseas markets, breaking records at almost every given opportunity.
