Box Office: ‘Raaes’ & ‘Kaabil’ clash still on for January 2017

The clash of the titans between Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan at the box office in January 2017, is still on.
There have been talks of postponing one of the films to another date but both parties seem adamant to release ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ on India’s Republic Day next year.
A source told Mid-Day,”Shah Rukh and Hrithik have worked with each other and share a warm rapport. The latter also shares a good understanding with ‘Raees’ producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. So, industrywallahs were hoping that they would come up with a solution to avoid a box office collision. However, both parties are determined to release their respective films around the Republic Day weekend and the problem is far from resolved.”
‘Raaes’ averted a clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ this Eid but is now facing opposition to ‘Kaabil’, which had already reserved its space for January 2017 a few months ago.
The source added, “Rakesh [Roshan]ji, Hrithik, Farhan and Ritesh are going to meet soon to figure out a way that we don’t clash.”
‘Kaabil’ director Sanjay Gupta told Mid-Day, “As far as I know, we are releasing on the date we announced a long time ago and that’s January 26, 2017.”
