This weekend’s much awaited movie ‘PK’ has failed to beat the opening day collections of ‘Happy New Year’, its been revealed.
According to India TV News, the Aamir Khan film collected Rs 30 Cr on its first day, almost 33% less than the Rs. 44 crore ‘Happy New Year’ made. The news comes as surprising, as ‘PK’ is being shown on much more screens than the Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster. ‘PK’ opened on 200 screens more than ‘Happy New Year’. It was released on 5200 screens in India on Friday.
However, ‘Happy New Year’ released during the Diwali holidays. It remains to be seen how much the film’s business will grow. Analysts suggest the film’s lifetime business will be around the Rs 25-0 crore mark – similar to ‘Dhoom 3’.
