Box Office: ‘PK’ becomes 4th film to hit 50 crores in two days

Aamir Khan always creates a particular kind of magic at the box office whenever he releases a film. ‘PK’, which hit cinemas on Friday, is no different. The film has hit Rs 50 crores in just two days, BizAsia can confirm.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS, “It has collected at least Rs.55 crore in first two days. On the first day, it earned about Rs.26 crore. The next day, it managed to mint Rs.29 crore. They will earn profit, but expectations were higher”.

“The film is being liked by people in metropolitan cities. It will maintain steady figures in coming days,�۝ he added.

Writer Milap Zaveri also tweeted that the film looks like it’s set for a long box office run.

The film joins ‘Singham Returns’, ‘Kick’ and ‘Happy New Year’ to become the fourth film to cross Rs 50 crores in two days. It is the fifth most successful opening day for a Bollywood film in the UK and also seems to be faring well in othet overseas markets.

‘PK’ is 2014’s 200th release and also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt.
