Box Office: ‘Padmaavat’ crosses Rs. 150 crore

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic ‘Padmaavat’ has managed to rake in over Rs. 150 crore in its first extended week of release.

The Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor film has delivered Rs. 159.50 crore, resulting in a ‘Super Hit’ status. Box Office India reports that the film lost around 27% of business over the eight days due to some states refusing to screen the film. The report adds that the film could have fetched a business of Rs. 217 crore nett in its extended first week if it was played everywhere in India.

With the way the film is doing at the box office, it could be cross Rs. 250 crore in a week’s time. However, it will need to maintain its business and not drop for it to achieve this.

‘Padmaavat’ cost around Rs 215 crore to make but it will be interesting to see the profit it makes after it crosses this line.
