Box Office: Online leak of ‘Jai Ho’ damaging collections?

In what would have been a considerable blow to Sohail Khan۪s production, a Dubai-based user of YouTube is believed to have leaked Jai Ho۪ in its entirety on the site just four days after it released.
It is believed that the film was removed by the website but somehow a better version seemed to find itself on the site. The views of the video have crossed 100,000 and this could be the reason that the film is being shunned in theatres.
Trade analyst Amul Mohan is quoted by Hindustan Times, If the pirated print of Jai Ho reached over 1 lakh views online, the film must have lost approximately `10-12 crore within four days.
This pirated leak appears to be the fastest ever. Whilst other films eventually get leaked, it seems the fate of Jai Ho۪ may have been damaged by the speed of this one. Salman Khan۪s team and the makers of the movie remained unavailable to comment but must be clearly distressed by this unfortunate incident.
While the industry is seen to combat piracy, one wonders how this kind of activity will be avoided in the future.
