Box Office: ‘Neerja’ has decent opening

The much talked about real-life based drama ‘Neerja’ has opened up on an average note at the box office in India.

According to Box Office India, the Sonam Kapoor plane drama had an opening of around 20% at multiplexes in Mumbai and Delhi. However, Chandigarh opened up much higher with 40% collections posted. Outside the main cities, the collections were below par. The film’s positive word of mouth is expected to work in ‘Neerja’s’ favour over the weekend.

Other films ‘Direct Ishq’, ‘Ishq Forever’, ‘Loveshhuda’ and ‘Rhythm’ did not perform as well. ‘Loveshhuda’ may work better at metro multiplexes.
