Despite having a rocky start when released, news has it that John Abraham’s second production, ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013), has had a rapid growth in it’s earning.

According toNDTV, the film – which also stars Nargis Fakhri – has already earned over 20 crore at the domestic box office. Abraham, who is seen playing the lead, was reported stating via social networking site Twitter, “I thank all of you for putting faith in my vision for cinema to get progressive. Collections on this film have skyrocketed. A big thank you.”

The film had run into a bit of trouble before it was due to release. Being based on real-life events from the Sri Lankan civil war, there was much speculation as to how the film would portray Sri Lankans in a negative light. The film had been pulled out from many theatres around the world. However, it seems this hasn’t stopped audiences in finding their way to see the film.
