Box Office: ‘Kesari’ due to release on Independence Day in 2019?

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming project ‘Kesari’ helmed by Karan Johar, is rumoured to be hitting cinemas on Indpendence Day in 2019.

According to Deccan Chronicle, ‘Kesari’ was put on the backburner after its sets at Wai, near Panchgni were engulfed in a fire earlier this year. It now seems that the makers are keen to rush work on the film so it can be released in August next year.

A source told the publication, “The film needs another 15 days of shooting with Akshay and the others. A set will need to be put into place for that. We cannot do anything during the monsoons, because it’s an outdoor schedule, and we need to find the dates that work for Akshay and the other actors in the film. I am not sure what release date suits the makers, but we have a lot of work to be done, including VFX.”

‘Gold’ also starring Kumar, was released a couple of weeks ago to coincide with Independence Day. It proved a runaway box office success.
