Box Office: John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ release delayed?

Originally slated for an India independence day release, John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ may be postponed due to a legal case seeking a stay on the movie.

The two men accused in the Batla House encounter case in 2008, Ariz Khan and Shehzad Ahmad, have requested that a screening be shown before the movie releases so that they can verify whether the facts in the film are accurate to the actual case.

The plea read as follows, “Although the courts discharge their duties in a free and fair manner and are not likely to be affected by events portrayed in a movie… The release of such a movie would prejudice the trial, especially as there has been an effort to connect the two incident i.e. Batla House and the Delhi serial blasts”
