Box Office: ‘Jai Ho’ opens slower than expected

Salman Khan and Daisy Shah starrer ��Jai Ho�۪ released today after many promotions and amidst a lot of expectations. However, early indications show that the film not doing as well as expected, particularly in the multiplexes.

Khan�۪s popularity on screen is often unmatchable and with no release in 2013, it was predicted that ��Jai Ho�۪, which is directed by Sohail Khan, could well beat the opening collections of Aamir Khan�۪s ��Dhoom 3�۪ last year. However, it seems the film is proving to be doing less than what makers, fans and the actor himself will have hoped for. It is being reported by Box Office India that in Mumbai and Pune, the screens are enjoying around 90% occupancy. However, in other areas, the film is at a rather disappointing 50%.

The releases of two weeks ago, ��Dedh Ishqiya�۪ and ��Yaariyan�۪, have proved to slow down considerably. The former achieved around 24.50 crores nett and the latter was at 27 crores nett.
