Box Office: ‘Jagga Jasoos’ gets off to a dull start

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s much delayed project ‘Jagga Jasoos’ has finally hit theatres today, however the initial figures have been disappointing.

The musical opened up to around 20-25% on average, according to Box Office India. The film opened up better in Mumbai and Bangalore but not big enough to give the film the initial it was expecting. The report adds that the film’s release on 1100 theatres on 1800 screens may work in its favour. Apparently, the makers of the film are using the same strategy deployed for ‘Barfi’ (2012).

‘Jagga Jasoos’ will have competition from last week’s release ‘Mom’, which continues to do well.
