Box Office: ‘Ittefaq’ starts off on slow note

This weekend’s thriller release ‘Ittefaq’ has opened up to around 10-15% collections, being beaten by the Hollywood release ‘Thor – Ragnorak’, which led the way with around 30% collections.

‘Ittefaq’, which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna, has taken a different strategy by not going heavy on promotions. The makers believe the content will be strong enough to pull in the audiences. The opening of the film is similar to Malhotra’s last release ‘A Gentleman’, according to Box Office India.

‘Ittefaq’ is expected to grow in evening and weekend shows. The low cost of the film – Rs. 14 crore, will also work in the film’s favour. Whether the film attracts any cinema goers due to the lack of publicity, remains to be seen.
