Box Office: ‘Happy Ending’ has average opening

Ileana Saif Happy Ending 340x

This weekend’s release ‘Happy Ending’ has had an average opening despite mixed reviews from critics.

According to Box Office India, the Saif Ali Khan – Ileana D’Cruz rom-com, had an opening similar to last week’s ‘Kill Dil’. It started with around 35% collections. The report adds that circuits like CP Berar and CI opening was a little lower but big cities like Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore had a better opening.

‘Happy Ending’ is expected to perform better due to its light-hearted theme, opposed to last week’s action flick ‘Kill Dil’.

Other films like ‘Happy Go Lucky’ (Punjbai) and ‘Titoo MBA’ were below par.

The Punjabi film ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ has emerged as the biggest ever Punjabi hit. The total from East Punjab so far is 8.15 crore nett and is sure to cross the all time record of ‘Jatt and Juliet 2’ of 11.75 crore nett in the next two weeks. The Punjabi version is also doing very well in Delhi/UP and is likely to cross 3 crore nett from just 25 odd prints.
