Box Office: ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ eclipsed by ‘Rustom’

This weekend’s release ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ has had a rather quiet start at the box office, as the power of last week’s film ‘Rustom’ continues to dominate.

According to Box Office India, ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ starring Abhay Deol and Diana Penty, opened to around 10% – that’s lower than Deol’s previous film ‘Aisha’ (2010). However, better numbers than his last film ‘One By Two’ (2014). The report adds that the best of the business will come in from Delhi NCR and East Punjab but the opening seems disappointing for it to register any major difference.

‘Rustom’ continued to maintain lead and witnessed a surge on Thursday due to Raksha Bandhan holiday. The film is expected to slip today but could pick up again over the weekend. If the film continues as it is, ‘Rustom’ could beat the second week figures of Akshay Kumar’s last ‘Airlift’.

The other release ‘Unindian’ is a non-starter at the box office.
