Box Office: ‘Gunday’ one of the biggest openers of 2014

The much hyped film ‘Gunday’ has had one of the biggest openings of 2014 in India, BizAsia can reveal.

The film’s occupancy averaged around 60% – similar to ‘Jai Ho’, which released last month. Even though collections for ‘Gunday’ are said to be huge, it maybe a uphill task for ‘Gunday’ to beat opening collections of ‘Jai Ho’ as the former is being shown on less screens than the latter.

The opening of ‘Gunday’ is still praise worthy as it is on par with a Salman Khan movie. If the film continues to go at this strength, ‘Gunday’ could well be on its way to becoming one of the biggest hits of 2014.
