Box Office: Great opening for ‘Aashiqui 2’

This week sees the release of Mohit Suri’s ‘Aashiqui 2’. The film seems to have received a bumper opening at the all-important domestic box office despite being opposed by the release of ‘Iron Man 3’.

According to One India Entertainment, the film – which stars Aditya ��Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and Smiley Suri – has done brilliant business right from the morning with every show indicating a rise in occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes too.

This week seems to show that ‘Aashiqui 2’ promotions and, more specifically, the soundtrack has done well in creating intrigue about the movie. Also, a generation who would be very familiar with the film’s first instalment will undoubtedly want to watch this newer offering to see what it has to offer.

Reviews are not unanimous verdict-wise but portray that the romance shows a shortfall somewhere. However, it is the audiences verdicts that matter the most.
