Box Office: ‘A Gentleman’ makes slow start

This weekend’s much hyped release ‘A Gentleman’ starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez has taken a slow start in India.

According to Box Office India, the film has taken a poor start but a little better than the other the four releases that include ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, ‘Muskurahatein’, ‘Qaidi Band’ and ‘Sniff’. ‘A Gentleman’ has opened to an occupancy of around 15% compared to 10% for Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’.

The regional holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi may boost the collections of all releases with expectations high for ‘A Gentleman’, which has been publicised heavily over the past few weeks. The film may also see opposition from ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, which continue to do well.
