'Chennai Express' breaking records at the box office

‘Chennai Express’ has broken so many records since release that one would imagine it would run out of steam soon. However, the film’s ticket collections both domestically and in the overseas market are showing no signs of slowing down.

It is thought that Shah Rukh Khan’s popularity with the international audiences is proving a money-spinner for the movie which is doing considerably well overseas. Sources have recently concluded that the film is on 54 crores overseas and 113 crores in India. What with Thursday being a national holiday in the sub-continent as Indian Independence day is celebrated, no doubt the ticket windows will be a jump in sales.

‘Chennai Express’ is Khan’s biggest opening ever and seems to be continuously wooing the family audiences in the evening shows.

This week’s release ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara’ is also a bankable film but whether it will outdo ‘Chennai Express’ remains to be seen. Stay with BizAsia as we bring you more updates of the box office.
