Box Office: ‘Bhootnath Returns’ dull; ‘Disco Singh’ set to break records

This week’s solo Bollywood release ‘Bhootnath Returns’ has had a slow start at the box office today in India, however Punjabi movie ‘Disco Singh’ has thrashed all opposition in Punjab.

The Amitabh Bachchan movie has been released at 1300 plus screens but the returns have been very dull, according to Box Office India. If the trend continues then the film will beaten by last week’s release ‘Main Tera Hero’ in the weekend collections. Early figures suggest the film has collected 10-15% business.

‘Bhootnath Returns’ has faced severe competition in Punjab from ‘Disco Singh’, which stars Diljit Dosanjh. It has been released in 117 cinemas in East Punjab and collections have been fantastic in the territory. plus Delhi also reporting big numbers for a Punjabi film.

‘Disco Singh’ is on its way to becoming a record breaker in the Punjabi film industry. The opening collections were around 90-100% and ‘Disco Singh’ has potential to become the second biggest opener for a Punjabi film ever.
