Box Office: ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ starts off poorly

The latest release ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ has had a poor start at the India box office.

According to Box Office India, the film had an opening of around 10-15% in its morning shows. However, the report suggests that was expected, which may pick up tonight or in weekend takings. It may prove to be a silent hit like ‘Hindi Medium’ earlier this year. It all depends on good word of mouth and a surge in collections over the weekend.

‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ will face competition from ‘Annabelle: Creation’, which has had a bigger opening than the former. It will face an uphill task from last week’s release ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. The Akshay Kumar film has proved extremely well with nearly Rs. 100 crore in its first week.
