Box Office: ‘Banjo’ gets off to a poor start

The latest box office release ‘Banjo’ has had a slow start at the ticket window in India.

According to data from Box Office India, the Riteish Deshmukh – Nargis Fakhri starrer, opened up with around 15% occupancy. While the opening was a little better in Maharashtra, it was still low for the film. It reported pretty bad figures in North and West India. ‘Banjo’ release is being compared with films like ‘Freaky Ali’ and ‘Madaari’.

‘Banjo’ got a better opening than the other releases including ‘Days Of Tafree’, which reported figures of around 5-7%.

‘Pink’ dominated the box office with excellent collections – beating all the new releases. It is expected to remain the first choice this weekend.
