Box Office: ‘Bajatey Raho’ proves front runner on an overall dull Friday

Bajatey Raho

This week is indeed a busy Friday at the box office with no less that 11 releases. The most popular of those would be Hollywood’s ‘The Wolverine’ but in B-town there is ‘Issaq’, ‘Bajatey Raho’, ‘Nasha’ and also ‘Luv U Soniyo’ to name a few.

It’s safe to say that ‘Bajatey Raho’, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Vishakha Singh, Ranvir Shorey and Dolly Ahluwalia, is the front-runner with the best takings out of the Bollywood releases with 20-25% occupancy. ‘Nasha’ also seems to fairing OK but ‘Issaq’ has opened to a cold reception. Reviews for the movies are also going to prove detrimental no doubt as no one film is achieving above average by critics.

Last week’s releases ‘D-Day’ and ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ have slowed down this week but in it’s second week, Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is racing ahead even this week’s releases.

‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is edging towards the 100 crores mark slowly but surely as it is currently at 79 crores at the Indian box office. In the UK, it has achieved 186,000 and is continually proving popular in the US too.
