Box Office: ‘Baadshaho’ opens up better than ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’

The action thriller, ‘Baadshaho’ has had a better opening at the box office in India, over its rival ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, according to Box Office India.

‘Baadshaho’ had a start of around 25-30% in morning figures compared to 10-15% for ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. The opening of ‘Baadshaho’ is also said to be better than Ajay Devgn’s previous film ‘Shivaay’ (2016) and on par with ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’. The film’s business can accelerate over the weekend due to the Eid holiday. The film’s overall business will be highly dependable on big centres like Jaipur, Nagpur and Surat.

‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ had a better opening than ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ but that was expected due to the former’s wider release. It is expected to do similar business than ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ too, which also starred Ayushmann Khurrana.

Last weekend’s releases ‘A Gentleman’ and ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ bombed at the box office, while ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ has held on with good numbers.
